Would you leave work experience off your resume?

As a builder, your resume is one of your most valuable tools to win work.

When you apply for a job, you make sure your resume is polished with your best achievements. Why then do so many builders, developers and manufacturers neglect this important asset?

If you're hiring, you don't ask "show me a list of the projects you've completed" and immediately make the hire. You'd likely want to understand the story behind their career (with a couple references too). The more information a candidate provides and substantiates, the easier your decision becomes.

So, stop approaching your resume the same way.

Don't leave your potential clients guessing. Anyone can present a finished product. The companies that stand out show potential clients not only what they get, but the experience of getting there. Your clients should be asking "when can we start" and not 100 questions about your process.

Would you leave work experience off your resume?

Each project/product you create tells a story that could help a future client choose to work with your firm. There is often only one chance capture it. Why wouldn't you?

Set Your Baseline

Baseline Logo - Icon_edited_edited.png

We believe a combination of good storytelling and visuals helps you win more work. A baseline in surveying acts as the reference point for all future surveys and layouts. We believe investing in your resume and brand should be the same. Give your clients a good visual starting point. Guide them through your processes. Introduce them to your team and culture. Show them how to use your products. Share the stories of your past client's successes. Good storytelling is more than a few images at the end of a project. It's a combination of all the moments that ultimately help a potential client feel confident in moving forward with you.
